Marathi film - KAKASPARSH, mind-blowing film. It really shook me up. The thought put forward was something totally unexpected. After watching the film I was disturbed for days. Some things you just take for granted in life - but for those who are deprived -it is really intense.UMBARTHA another marathi film - with Smita Patil was also a powerful film. It was very relevant to the time - when it was made. Till today I am not able to decide - was she right in leaving the home for a career ? and if yes then was it wrong with the way her family behaved towards her when she returned? If any of you has seen this film, please comment.
Yes Bhabhi I have seen both the movies. Kakasparsh is recent movie and i recollect it well. My take is not all deprived of love will perish :) Umbartha I had seen years back, but yes that was indeed a question on woman's decision and the support she had be it from her family OR outside OR her own belief in herself. I had many movies impacting me...CHANDNI BAR was one of it...KHAMOSHI ...ZNMD...KALAT NAKALAT....to mention a few...
I too was depressed after watching Kakasparsh. Felt terrible for that lady. In those days such things must have been a very common issue na? But the movie that had an impact on me is Eight Below. It was about this man who is forced to leave his eight dogs in the brutal cold weather storm of Antarctic and the way the dogs fight all odds to survive and reunite with their master. It's a very touching story. I had cried a lot.
